If you lose your baby in the first 20 weeks of pregnancy (defined as a miscarriage), the birth and death of your baby cannot be formally registered. This means that you will not receive a birth or a death certificate. This can create the feeling that no one will ever know that your baby even existed -- and that no one cares.
For this reason, many parents who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss find it helpful to do something in honor of their baby. In partnership with The Maci Foundation, you can sponsor a scholarship in memory of your unborn child. By providing educational assistance for a deserving and needing student, you can make a life-long, positive impact on that student's future and consequently create a life-long legacy for your unborn child.
Sponsoring a scholarship in honor of your baby with The Maci Foundation is easy:
Scholarships recipients are evaluated based upon the following criteria:
A team of qualified volunteers will do a blind evaluation of applications and narrow the pool of potential candidates down to three finalists. If you would like, you can review the applications and essays of the finalists and select the recipient. If not, the scholarship review board will make the final determination.
